Melissa Rosenberg: The two-part Breaking Dawn adaptation will NOT be as explicit as the book.

screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has suggested that the
two-part Breaking Dawn adaptation will not be as explicit as
the book.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Rosenberg hinted that she may tone down the more controversial elements of
Stephenie Meyer's final Twilight novel, which includes sex, a
bloody birth scene and werewolf Jacob "imprinting" on Bella Swan's child

She said: "On the fan site, on Facebook, all the comments are 'It has to be R rated! You have to show the childbirth!
Gore and guts and sex!'. For me it's actually more interesting to not
see it. You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth... it
doesn't mean it's any less evocative of an experience."

Rosenberg added that she has strived to make Bella a more formidable force in the
movies than she is in the novels: "She doesn't have the physical
strength of Edward and all of them. So how do you make the character
strong when she's physically vulnerable? There really is a goal to give
her stamina and other strengths. She really is a role model."

Discussing Kristen Stewart's involvement in the series, Rosenberg called the
actress "tremendous" and "one of the reasons why we got Bill Condon [to

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse debuts in the US on June 30 and July 9 in the UK.

I know for a fact when Stephenie sold the rights to the books to be turned into movies that one of the stipulations would be that they would would not get more than a PG-13 rating.

omg jacob imprining, chilbirth and sex what makes breaking dawn unique!! This is crap what they are gonna cut it out and think it is going to have the same effect.. I DONT THINK SO!! Seriously this is going to be so upsetting, BD is my fav out of the 4 books and if they stuff it up i am not the only one that will be SCREAMING 'WHAT HAVE YOU DONE".. maybe its not about that stuff for melissa but it IS For the fans.. All this just because they want to please the younger teeny boopers who wouldnt even grasp the whole meaning of the book(and YES they have read the books summit..geez) All Just to get more cash in their pocket.. So glad meyer is a producer for breaking dawn. She has a say on how they do the movie even the script. Im sure meyer will be considerate on the fans unlike rosenberg. Rosenberg's head got big, she think she knows everything. I hope summit reads our comments regarding this issue.

I COMPLETELY agree Mari. ALL Summit wants is money. That's all everybody wants. I wish people these days could just do something because they have heart and care about it, and not do it the easy way because they know they will make the most money taking the easy way out.

They, meaning Summit and Melissa and everybody else, need to start thinking more about the fans for a change.

Hope meyer does something about this. I hope also someone already emailed or atleast informed meyer/summit about this so they'd know the fans feeling towards what this rosenberg is babbling about
