Michael Welch on his contribution to the Twilight Saga
Team Twilight had the opportunity to speak to Michael Welch (AKA "Mike Newton") after a screening of his new movie "Unrequited" and he talked a little about his involvement in the Twilight Saga movies.
A few weeks ago he tweeted that he would be back for Breaking Dawn part 1. But he admits he has not read the script yet. He thinks of his role in New Moon to be his "peak in the franchise". The theatre scene is what he calls his "mark on the Twilight franchise, that little 3 1/2 minutes and the cafeteria."
He also thinks that he'll get as much screentime in Breaking Dawn as Eclipse. "[I]n Eclipse I had my little cafeteria scene and then I had the graduation with that stupid look on my face sitting behind Bella and Edward in soft focus."

I love Mike as Mike. And agree w/him on his NM scenes. The cafeteria was hilarious. It'll be grea to see the "humans" one last time in Breaking Dawn.

I loved the humans so much in Twilight and I wish they had more to do in the other books and films.
The Cullens and "the humans" have always been my favorite characters.

He played that movie theater scene in New Moon so well. He was the perfect balance between Bella and Jacob. And I loved how Mike and Jacob were sizing each other up while Bella bought the tickets! Good male posturing, very natural!
