BreakingDawn2. Oh, wow. What can I say?! Well, thumbs up to Bill Condon, Melissa Rosenberg, Stephenie Meyer, the whole cast, Summit… you indeed made twilight one of the best things that happened in our lives.
Just came out from the theater and I just want to get these all out, all these emotions… So, now I’m thinking over which of the scenes that got to me in this film.
(Be warned for SPOILERS)…
1. The battle scene
What can I say? T’was epic. It got me alright. The fight scene between vampires vs. vampires, vampires vs. werewolves, the good vs. the bad… were impressive. Action and drama rolled into one. I don’t want to get into more details, but really the stunts and graphics made that scene soo real for me.
2. Bella, the vamp
What better way to depict Bella as newborn but show her flying high, run fast, punching Jacob, and go rockclimbing in the speed of light. The film shows all that – showing how a newborn sharp senses really works. I always wondered how they will make those scenes believable. The film did not disappoint me on that.
When I looked at Renesmee I can’t help but focus my attention to her face. I think some early scenes of Renesmee (the toddler ones), the CGI effects, well, some shots of her are somewhat …forced. They could do much better with those shots - make them flawless in the likes of Benjamin-Button-flick effects. BD2 tried. And as what Bella says, Renesmee still is beautiful, nonetheless.
4. The wolfpack
Talking about CGI-effects. BD1 and BD2 made the big, scary wolf effect more believable. Thankfully they enhanced more the effect from the New Moon flick. To quote Eric Leven, the visual effects supervisor, “Bill has always treated the wolves as characters and never as computer generated things, and directs them in the same way he'd direct any actor. He would always give us direction like Sam should be angrier. It's the best way to work. His treating these creatures as characters, instead of just computer bits, was really great."
5. Aro’s laugh
Before I almost forgot... Hearing Aro’s laugh for the first time, indeed, gave me the chills. One cannot laugh with him certainly, because that one is only his. You cannot see the humor from his laugh, but doom. You’ll know what I mean after you watched it.
6. Vamp sex
Thought I will not see again Bella and Edward consummate their love on screen, but BD2 shows how vampire sex is more intense and passionate. Shots of Edward’s face full of desire were the cherry on my cake. (Smiles)
7. Bella showing Edward
I also wondered how they will do with that scene of Bella showing her thoughts to Edward. I appreciate the filmmakers that they film this scene not in the cottage, but in the meadow instead. Love the scenes they picked for Bella’s thoughts… they really go by the book on this one especially the one where the first time Bella saw Edward.
8. Alice’s vision of the future
One of the things I love in the BD2 script was Alice’s vision of the future… Of Jacob and Renesmee, Bella and Edward. I was like “awww….” T’was just so sweet. It shows pure bliss that I can’t help but hope for a sequel in the future…
Okay, I can only think of eight (8). Am sure many of you can add to this list. Let me know your thoughts. Which of the scenes got your attention? Which part of the story was central for you?
