My review of Adventureland with Kristen Stewart (and Twi-hub's take)
Today Twi-hub and I went to see Adventureland - mainly because we are going to Kennywood as part of a road trip this summer (Kennywood is where Adventureland was filmed).
Zhaan's take: It was cute, nice 80s feel (I was a teen in the 80s), funny 80s music, and some humor, but some dark stuff too. I would call it a renter. I thought Kristen Stewart was fine. Nothing trilling, but the movie wasn't thrilling either.
Twi-hub's take: It was good. However, Kristen Stewart is a terrible actor. All she can do is roll her eyes and run her hand through her hair and huff.
So there you have it folks, both the male and female perspective. Save your money and wait to rent the DVD or wait for it to go to cable.
On funny thing to me is Kristen had a line that was almost exactly like a line in Twilight. She said "I don't want to lose you." and as well all know in Twilight she says, "I'm only afraid of losing you.". I might not have noticed if I had not seen Twilight more than once, plus I think that line is in the trailers, but since it was her voice it sounded exactly the same.

I really liked this movie. There were a lot of quiet awkard moments.. but i think that was the idea. I thought kristen did a pretty good job and found her character to be pretty sad actually. i felt bad for her throughout most of the movie. But yeah not as funny as i thought it would be but i definitley enjoyed it. I would just tell people not to expect it to be a comedy like superbad.. there were funny bits but not throughout the entire movie.. its more of a heartfelt movie i though

I went to see Adventureland today, too, and surprisingly loved it. I've never been a big KStew fan, but I had a free movie pass and figured I'd go -- plus I spent two summers working at Kennywood's sister park, Idlewild. Like I said, I loved the movie and it was really cool for me because I could see so much of Kennywood in the scenes and it was very, very "Pittsburgh" -- especially with all of the music and the neighborhoods.

i have not seen adventureland yet, but i do know for sure Kstew is not a bad actor. anyone who has seen Cake Eaters can see that... She is a great actor and I believe that she made the movie Twilight tons better. I love Rob, but no one can say that he isn't a new actor and lacks experiecne, but Kristen was always there to bail him out during any scene where he might have been lacking.

i disagree. i thought the movie was very good. it was genuine and subtle, and the honesty of it is what gave it so much humor and charm. i was personally very pleased with kristen stewart's performance. it was very honest and, again, subtle. i thought she was delightful.

It was definately a "coming of age" story. I agree..I giggled and rolled my eyes when Kristen said some lines that sounded like they were lifted from TWILIGHT. Man, Kristen even ACTED the same. The music was awesome! Overall, it was good!
