New Interview – Melissa Rosenberg Talks Breaking Dawn and Rob and Kristen!

Mark Malkin of E!Online has a new interview with the Twilight Saga screenwriter – Melissa Rosenberg. He recently caught up with her at the Entertainment Weekly Women in Film pre-Emmy party -

Just because Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are such a perfect match on screen, Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg thinks it’s time we mind our own business about what goes once the cameras stop rolling.

“Their chemistry on film is so extraordinary,” Rosenberg told us at the Entertainment Weekly/Women In Film pre-Emmy party. “They were beautifully cast for those roles and their chemistry is amazing. I think people often confuse chemistry onscreen with chemistry offscreen.

“I think people should just enjoy what’s onscreen and leave their privates lives wherever they are,” she continued. “I don’t actually know what they are.”

So what scoop did Ms. Rosenberg tell us about our fave vampire movies? Read on to find out…

First up, Breaking Dawn. Rosenberg is not allowed to could not confirm she’s going to be tackling the script. “That’s still up in the air,” she said. “We’re still talking and nothing’s been decided.”

Eclipse’s Riley (Xavier Samuel) will have a much bigger presence in the movie than he has in Stephenie Meyer’s novel. “This is a character that’s really interesting and I got a chance to flesh him out,” Rosenberg said, adding, “It’s going to be really interesting watching the relationship between Riley and Victoria [Bryce Dallas Howard] growing.”

Interesting. I wonder how ‘big’ Riley’s part actually is? Personally, his relationship with Victoria is of no interest to me! They should just scratch that and add extended tent scenes!

he rolled to the side, pulling me on top of him. He held my face in his hands, angling it up so
that his mouth could reach my throat. My breathing was too loud - it was almost
embarrassing, but I couldn't care quite enough to be ashamed.
"The bed?" he asked again. "Ithink it's nice."
"It's unnecessary," I managed to gasp.
He pulled my face back to his, and my lips shaped themselves around his. Slowly this time,
he rolled till he hovered over me. He held himself carefully so that I felt none of his weight,
but I could feel the cool marble of his body press against mine. My heart was hammering so
loudly that it was hard to hear his quiet laughter.

Comment by Sandra on September 21, 2009 at 7:18am: I think that director's D. Slade idea of making Eclipse "dark" is wrong. Eclipse is the LESS dark book. He probably added meat to the bad guys (like Riley) in order to have more mayhem and "darkness". I'm sick at the thought of Summit messing a good thing, in order to add the GUYS to the audience and make more money. What might happen is that guys will NOT go to see the movie, but people like me and the rest of the die-hard fans won't go, either. I don't waste my $$ on horror/R-rated gore-filled nonsense slashers. Rob or no Rob.

Comment by sj on September 21, 2009 at 8:37am: Im not sure abought him being in the movie more i like the way it is in the book.Thay are are going away from the books more and more if you ask me.I want more of the way the book is then the screenwrighter thinks it should be. Its like she thinks well i dont like this part so im going to put this in.I dont want her take on twilight i want it how it is in the book. I know thay cant have it word for word like it is in the book but id like more of the book in the movie then what she likes. I want Stephenie meyers view not what the screenwriter thinks it should be but thats just me.

Comment by Mina Torres on September 21, 2009 at 8:52am: The only way I see them puttin ghim in the movie more and it still going along with the book would be if they have scenes of him goin to bella's home and taking things or roaming arund town trying figure out alices visions and how to get around them. that is in the book anything other than somehting like that is completely over doing it and i hate when they change so much out of the books. i adore the way the are written and i think thats the way they should be shown on screen. stretch them out a bit sure ok but dont add things that dont belong and take out scenes that make the books so great and unique.
