Sparkle for Twilight: Blog Update!
Once upon a time, 14-year-old me saw The Wedding Planner
and it became my life's mission to become
a superstar wedding planner. This actually materialized all the way through college in catering and event design, but currently my post-graduate pursuits are taking a slight detour in my other interests.
Even still, food and parties will always be my number one passion, and I still read up on my trade publications like BizBash
(it's something I'm used to, just like keeping mental notes on future baby names). I was not surprised they covered the New Moon
premiere and afterparty. It is of course, the most talked about event in LA this week!
Does anyone know who actually got into this thing? E! reported that fans were among the attendants, but how was that really possible besides the occasional contest winner?
Anyway, the food was catered by Wolfgang Puck, who I met when he came to give a lecture once, which brings us to fun fact #1: it was an Italian-inspired affair with gelato carts! Gelato. Carts. No one ever seems to be photographed eating at parties like this, which is such a shame.
Fun fact #2: there were real wolves being wrangled at the party. I think, a bit much, given they were just there for show. Still cute.
Fun Fact #3: New Moon
wardrobe was displayed at the Hammer Museum, venue of the after-party.
If you're looking for ideas for your own New Moon
-esque party, take cues from these white, purple and red color themes--just a different take on your usual red and black mélange of paper streamers and candle sticks.

Now I'm off because I've got a date with Taylor at Jimmy Fallon
this afternoon (though I don't think it will top seeing Kristen in person yesterday
!) and then to dinner before the double-my-pleasure, double-feature! I never got to see Twilight
on the big screen! Is it really already 11/19?! Get excited!
