Comment by Gabrielle on February 25, 2011 at 9:14pm: Although I can't stand her, I think Catherine Hardwick should have continued directing. Out of all three Twilight was the best in my eyes. I am really disappointed in David Slade. Did he really have to laugh at it? No, he could of taken it seriously. But I am hearing great things from the cast about BD. And since SM is a producer of BD, I am pretty sure it will turn out great. The soundtrack was great though. Loved My Love and Heavy In Your Arms.

Comment by Eclipse on February 25, 2011 at 9:37pm: I think David laughs because he knows the Academy are such snobs and they don't take the Twilight Saga as being a real film (in their eyes). I think that to these people Twilight is considered a "teen flick" and they don't take it seriously. Of course, the fans know it is not just that and they can all go jump in the lake! Ergo, David laughs because he knows it was never going to be taken seriously....none of the films ever will be...I doubt very much that BD1 and BD2 will be nominated at next year's awards either. Although, the funny thing is, that they know how powerful Twihards are because they are trying to appease us by integrating something to do with Twilight in this year's show with the "There will be something for the Twihards" surprise thing.

Comment by Lin on February 25, 2011 at 9:51pm: @ Eclipse, your are right, they don't consider these movies Oscar worthy and the truth is: they really aren't. they are baiting the Twihards because they know how powerful those numbers are for their ratings. I could have seen New Moon's score being nominated, but Eclipse's score was not that good.

But, yeah, they are after the numbers because of the ratings...we should all boycott the Oscars just to show them people power (a la Middle East)...but alas we won't!

I think that the main reason he took this gig to begin with was for the money, he knew he couldn't give it the edge because of the fan following that he did in say 40 days of night. actors and directors are contractually obligated to promote the films that they make, however, more often than not; if its something they don't believe in they will talk badly about it after the fact. I can't wait to see which of the cast members of these movies will badmouth the Twilight saga years from now.

The 'Accademy' dont see fantasy films as Oscor worthy i read, didn't Lord of the Rings get an Oscar? Not sure. But we all love them right girls? I love David Slade such a fab Director and he is British! Just like Rob..aaaaaah.......music was superb&have all of the music from all the films its great!!!
