Nikki Reed wants to quit acting?

"At least we’ll be seeing Nikki in the final two Twilight films, Breaking Dawn parts 1 & 2, because she’s ready to take her career BEHIND the camera!
“Lovable” isn’t exactly the word we’d use to describe Nikki Reed as bitter Twilight vampire Rosalie Hale, but still, she’s a member of the Cullen clan, and we’d miss her if she were gone. Unfortunately, it sounds like the starlet is ready to take a hiatus from the big screen and go behind-the-scenes in the movie biz!
“I directed a music video a few months ago, which was really awesome, and is a direction I want to move in,” the 22-year-old starlet told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the LA premiere of her new film, Last Day of Summer, Sept.22. “[I want to do more] directing, producing – just creating. I feel like this industry has so much to offer and at times it’s so easy to just get stuck in one category and, to be honest, that category is really full right now.”
It’s true that there’s a lot of competition from fellow talented starlets like her Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, Wall Street 2’s Carey Mulligan and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’s Rooney Mara, all of whom have consistently scored major roles. “There are a lot of young actresses out there right now,” Nikki shrugged. “We’re in a confusing time right now because reality television has changed the industry, and models are becoming actors. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I just feel like at this point in time, I’d rather step into a field where there’s more room for me to be an individual as opposed to being eaten alive in a world filled with so much competition.”
We think Nikki is a fabulous actress, and we’d love to see her continue to act on the big screen, but we’re with her: Hollywood is a dog eat dog world! Do you think she should quit acting or man up and keep trying for those coveted roles?"

lol sad? idk to be honest, I'm not really THAT much of a (big) fan of hers to really care enough whether or not she chooses to quit acting.

I'm not a big fan of hers too but she is a great actress! In Eclipse her acting performance was far better than kristen's, rob's, taylors.
Just Jackson and Billy Burke could compete with her ..

Nikki is an amazing actress. She should keep going!! Though I'm sure she would be a great director too, i want her to stay on the big screen!!!!!!

I justt want her to be in Eclipse,LMFAO jk . But i like her movies & she shouldnt waste her talent like that. She should countiune her journey as a Actress .

In all honesty, it was revealed that back when she did Thirteen, she didn't actually want to act in it. She was doing it to get into the showmanship of being behind the scenes, but Evan as well as Catherine convinced her to play Evie because they couldn't find anyone more suited to play the role. I'm happy she did. To say that I'd be sad to see her leave acting would be true...but I think, as diverse as she is, to be able to see her produce something through either that (producer) or direct something would be quite amazing. She's very multi-talented. Even if she were to go out in the world and be an advocate for something she loves, like the charity Do Something, or Autism Speaks...would be amazing. To keep her in one area, just wouldn't fit the lifestyle I think she leads.

Awww, i'm sad!! I love Nikki...she is so friendly, and has such a great personality...plus she is a great actress!! I think she would get into screenwriting if she wasnt a actress, which is cool because she wrote thirteen!!

TBH, she's been saying this for a while. She said a few months back in an interview that she hates the superficial nature of acting, and how only actresses in the tabloids get roles. She said that she hates the way LA is trying to shape the industry and wants to find the pureness of her art. She also said in the Nylon interview that she's a nightmare to work with because she wants to see every shot and know every detail. She's got a directors eye and I think she'll do well no matter what she chooses.
