Paparazzi problems... are we to blame as fans?

*le sigh* Over the years the paparazzi issue of course has been a ever growing problem. Hell, there have even been movies made about how awful the paps are. (That movie made me sick BTW). In history, we have Lady Diane killed from trying to run away from paps, paps photographing stars little children, we have poor KStew who feels as if she is being raped (for the record I totally saw where she was coming from on that statement), we have RPatz who could not go home for hours because of following paps and him wanting to keep the Robsten love nest a secret… But while we b**** and complain about the paps and their VERY intrusive behavior, the simple facts lays in this:

There will continue to be pics, if there is public demand for them. If there is a high public demand for pics then the *money shots (i.e. kissing, PDA, confirmation if they are/are not)* will sell for high dollars. So you have the ever wanting fans, the paps looking for the big payday and the actors/actresses at the center of the circus.

It comes full circle and it is a total bittersweet Catch 22. We as fans whine and cry when we have not seen our fav actors/actresses photographed in some time we then b**** (while secretly happy we get to see pics of them) that the paps are following our fav actors/actresses around like a pack of hungry dogs.

It is the total *accident on the side of the rode* mentality for fans and it is *human nature*. You don't want to look, you know looking might gross you out, but your curiosity takes over and you HAVE TO LOOK. Honestly, I have taken enough Sociology in my years to know that we truly can not help ourselves. It is wanting to be part of our society and staying current on the happenings of Hollywood, it is feeding into our want to know everything that encompasses our love for fav movie/book/actor, and bottom line is it is sometimes nice to live vicariously through the rich, famous and even more fun to live through the rich, famous that are in love with each other. Take all the crazy hype over *Brangelina*...

Robsten is bringing out in real life, the feelings we felt when we read the Twilight books and saw the movies. They are keeping the love that we felt reading and watching alive outside of a series that is so dear to us. We as fans just want a little piece of the magic that we have all grown to love and make part of lives so deeply. While we (ok 98% of us) are not chasing Robsten around trying to get their pics, we as fans will continue to live in a bittersweet Catch 22 of wanting to see pics we find hard to look at because of the way they came about.

It is at this point you choose to take a stand on never looking at pap pics again and not feeding into their *paydays* or you remain part of circle. Honestly, it is your personal choice to make.

Comment by ElarieJaymes on August 17, 2010 at 8:23am: I totally agree. Seeing photos like that make me feel kind of sick. It IS our fault that they're getting so much attention, of course it is. We invented this crazy world that they live in, and they have to pay the price. But, we, as fans, also gave them the opportunities to do anything they want for the rest of there lives. If they wanted to, they could stop working forever, and never have a single concern about anything. But i refuse to look at pap pictures again, because they're violent, brutal, and unstoppable. Unless, as you say, we all refuse them together. Then something can be done.

Like for one STAY OUT OF THEIR PERSONAL SPACE. I mean come on how would they feel if someone was literally in their face every time you went out side. The Golden rule people. Do unto to other as you would have them do unto you. The famous have chosen this life style, but I don't want to see their nose hairs.

Comment by JENNIFER N. on August 17, 2010 at 8:28am: I think most of us know the difference between a public outing (say going to Starbucks), and sitting in a friend's backyard trying to get some private time. But there IS a huge conflict, and we all have to decide what WE feel is a private moment (not meant for paps and photogs) and what is an ok moment to take photos. Who decides if going for coffee at Starbucks is public or private? I think there is a very thin line of public time and private time for these celebrities. Yes we want to see them, but not at the cost of them feeling like refugees in their hotel rooms.

There have clearly been a lot of pics this past week of Rob, Kris, Robsten...and there hadn't been pics of them out (clearly out together) like that, not so obviously. So maybe this is their "coming out" party. Seems like they're pretty good at laying low if they want to. Maybe their hoping that some pics and a little hype for a while will then calm the masses in the end. I dunno.

We see time and time again people saying "I love this photo" of one of the celebrities out and about town, then the next minute the same people say "I hate the paps that follow them". We see time and time again people saying they hate the paps and photogs who stalk them down and disturb their private time, then the next minute the same people are the exact ones posting up these pictures on a blog.

YES THEY ARE MOVIE STAR'S, BUT THEY ARE NORMAL PEOPLE TOO. GIVE THEM A BREAK PAPS. THEY NEED DO BE ABLE TO GO ANYWHERE AND DO WHAT EVER THEY WONT WITH OUT FLASH BULBS IN THERE FACE. I WOULD HATE TO HAVE FLASH BULBS IN MY FACE ALL THE TIME.

and now i feel like we should give them(r/k) a good support to have enough privacy to live normal life like we do.we dont need to see any papz pics for knowing if they are together or not.
if you want to see happy robsten, then chose wise. that is what i can do right now.

Comment by Connie Cullen on August 17, 2010 at 9:28am: All i want to do is just meet them once! and tell them how much twilight has changed my life and the way I look at love now (seriously). i agree that paparazzi are so annoying and its ridiculous how two people cannot just be left alone. however i admit that I do look at pictures and read articles but simple because im interested in knowing where they are visiting and filming so I can maybe have a chance to meet them. and i know that it's never going to happen which sucks so much but their relationship honestly makes me happy for them and i think if they just came out with it they wouldnt get so much crap. the hype will die down eventually because people wont have anything to prove anymore.

THEY REALLY ARE just every day people like you and me and i think most of us would just enjoy being able to say "I talked to robert pattinson" or "I took a picture with kristen stewart". five seconds that would pretty much make anyones life. can u imagine how just one person could do that for u?

This is where it gets to much...IMO. This is to much for me. I agree that they are just like us. The government should make an anti stalking law for these people.
