Ok...Did i miss something??? I think I'm the only one that pictured the tunnels leading to a large round marble floored room with high cealings???

That scene in the book creeped me out. Yeach, I stilll shudder.

I'm glad SM didn't write a slasher-vampire story because she does creepy really well, and I don't think I could read more than one of those in a series.

Ransomette, the scene pictured fits with how I envisioned it, as well. I'm curious now so will find it in the book.

At the time I read it, I thought what a perfect scene it was because, where the Cullens are the evolved/enlightened vampires, the Volutri are the dirty, base, react-without-thinking vampires, and the scene (what I remember of that) described in the book was a clear metaphor for the difference between the Volutri and the Cullens.

Look where the Cullens live--in a clean, with clean (almost sterile) lines in the architecture, lots of open space and windows, lots of light.

The volutri's feeding scene basically describes the filthy bowels of the Volutri lair. And the way they've done the scene for the movie, those tunnes/rooms really DO look like human bowels that still have the remnants of feces on the walls.

I'm going to go check it out in the book and see what she actually wrote, though.

i just re read it and i guess i pictured it a little morelike a castle because the woman says "It's so mideval." When i think of that i usually think of like camelot. but now that i think about it it does lookpretty good.
