Renesmee to be a CGI baby in BREAKING DAWN?!?

Hi Twifans.

On Stephenie Meyer's official website, she said 'Breaking Dawn might be impossible to film because of Renesmee. You can do almost anything with CGI these days—realistic dragons and dinosaurs and endless amounts of nonexistent creatures that blend right in with the real elements. Some of them look so real you forget they're not. However, the one thing that I've never seen is a CGI human being who truly looks real. An actress can't play Renesmee, at least not when she's a few days old; she's the size of a baby, but her expressions are totally controlled and aware. She would have to be a construct, and CGI isn't quite there yet. Of course, they develop amazing new technologies everyday, and we've got a little time left.'

But the filming of the movie is meant to take place almost immediately as they finish Eclipse.
So fingers crossed!! :D

CGI? WTF.
What I thought they'd do is just get tons of babies that all looked the same and go from there... there are kids out there talented enough.. we've seen babies movies and kids at small age act...

I think that would be weird.

Comment by ElarieJaymes on August 19, 2009 at 1:11pm: I think they should get a small but incredibly talented (they are out there) 5/6 year old to do all the parts from Nessie's first word onwards, as it the book Ness progresses very quickly from baby holding herself up when held by Rosalie to walking and talking all within about a page and a half, so prehaps they start off with a young looking 1 year old to play all beginning parts (apart from the birth, which can just be a 1/2 month old baby with brown eyes and a bit of brown/red hair) up until the 'sped up growth' when Meyer rushes through 3 months when i was thinking they could do a sort of morphy thingy. so like you know in twilight when edward is sucking her blood in the ballet studio near the end and it goes into a sort of memory thing and it starts with loads of close ups of bella's face and eyes, well i was thinking sorta like that but get lots of kids with brown eyes, all different ages from 2 months up to 5/6 years to show the progression in age, eventually ending in the 5/6 year old who will be playing Renesmee for the rest of the film, which then goes at a slow pace, day by day, so the progression in age is not so noticeable, so they can get away with using the one actress. I personally think the acting will not be as good if they use CGI as it is harder for the actor such as Kristen and Nikki to hold a child that is not there. it'll just look odd. Sorry I've just scrolled up and realised how much i've written. Rose Patterson please tell me what you think lol, sorry i wrote so much ;S! x

Comment by Stina Riz (Team Twinkie) on August 19, 2009 at 1:16pm: I think Stephenie is wrong with needing a CGI baby, I am sure it could be managed maybe just with slight CGI changes to a baby's face. Something entirely CG would just be down right cheesy in my opinion.
