durhhhhhh he's obviously preparing for his role as Edward because in New Moon he's a loner after he leaves Bella... he probably wants to get back into that state of mind.

Rob pretty much shut himself off from the world when he was preparing for Twilight, so I'm sure it's just his way to to prep for movies.
