Welcome to Sheena and Stina's Fan Fiction of the Week. Each week we'll review a piece of Twilight fan fiction, giving you our opinions and rating it on a scale of one to 10 fangs with one fang being a dud and 10 being absolutely dazzling. If you'd like us to review a piece of fan fiction, please send it to us by posting the link here as a comment, and by all means tell us what you think of the stories, too. Enjoy!!
This week's pick: North Star Rising
Story rating: PG-13
Summary: Bella has set her sights on immortality, and finally, Edward has bent to her will. What could possibly go wrong as they plan for their own private eternity?
The best laid plans…
The ripples of the destruction caused by James’s coven have not yet settled, and the Cullens are about to understand exactly how much one moment in time can alter their fragile piece of perfection.
This story is a very refreshing take on an alternate universe "Breaking Dawn." I enjoyed it whilst reading, but unlike with some stories I wasn't sucked in to the point of not being able to look away from my screen. I think its definitely refreshing after the last recommendation, which was pure smut, that this is pure story. The characterization is done well, and Bella is a bit more interesting than, dare I say, the actual series. I think it depends on what you look for to dictate between liking and loving this fanfic. It's definitely worth a try :)
After a steamy week of lust-filled fan fiction, we thought we'd try for something a little, er, cleaner. I adore this story. I wasn't sure what to expect when we decided to go with something PG-13, but hey, Twilight's basically PG-13. Even without all of the smut that "The List" had, this story is well worth your time, and once you start reading, you'll understand why. I'm half convinced that this is really Stephenie Meyer writing this story under another name because the author writes so well and captures Bella and Edward perfectly. Just like "The List" and some of the other stories we're finding, this one appears to be unfinished, but that just means there's more to come.
Now it's your turn. Tell us what you think!
