This week's story: "Only Human" by Amethyst Jackson
Rating: NC-17
Summary: A wish sends Bella back in time to Chicago, 1918, and to a human Edward.


STINA SAYS: This fic seriously has one of the most original plot lines and it's so sad and sweet. When Bella gets sent back to 1918 to share human experiences with Edward, the readers know it's only a matter of time before Edward contracts Spanish influenza. I also think the characterization of young Edward in this fic was done flawlessly; this IS Edward when he was actually 17 -- a gentlemen but very naive, and extremely endearing. It's nice to see Edward not drowning in self hatred for once.

SHEENA SAYS: I'm not one much for these alternate universe stories, but I'll admit that I liked this one. It's a little far fetched, but then again we've all been reading about vampires and werewolves, so nothing should surprise us anymore. It's an interesting twist on the Edward-Bella saga because most fan fiction pieces focus on Edward's anguish over changing Bella and watching her die. Well, in this one we all know what's coming, and that's what makes it so heartbreaking to read.
