Welcome to Sheena and Stina's Fan Fiction of the Week. Each week we'll review a piece of Twilight fan fiction, giving you our opinions and rating it on a scale of one to five fangs with one fang being a dud and five being absolutely dazzling. Feel free to drop us suggestions for stories to review, and by all means tell us what you think of the stories, too. Enjoy!!
This week's pick: "Horizons"
After giving birth to Renesmee, Bella's body was too ravaged by her pregnancy to survive the change and she supposedly died two days after Renesmee was born. Shortly thereafter, Edward followed in his wife's footsteps in his own way.
Fearing that the Volturi would some how discover the newborn hybrid's existence, Rosalie and Emmett escaped with baby Renesmee. The remaining Cullens scatter, coming back together from time to time.
Barely shy of eighteen, Renesmee returns to Forks to go finish school where her legacy began.
There she hopes to secretly find some closure on the secret pain of her existence that she's hidden away for so many years but instead discovers a new reason for hope. Did Bella really die after her birth? Was Edward's attempt at suicide successful?
And what do the Volturi have to do with everything?
I think that this fic is exceptionally well written. As Sheena was, I was a bit hesitant to begin reading it, because of the plot. But don't be mislead this is still very much an Edward & Bella fanfiction. At times, it is heartbreakingly beautiful, and be prepared to shed a few tears. I think that this author is so original with this storyline, I have never seen anything like it, and I think it is definitely a MUST read.
I like this one. I was a little leery at first because of the plot, but it's so well written that you can't help but like it and keep reading. Also, the opening is so moving even though I wanted to initially kill Edward for leaving his daughter. But we get a different perspective here from Nessie's point of view, and the storyline is coming unexpected given the way that "Breaking Dawn" played out. This one is definitely worth the read.
Now it's your turn. Tell us what you think!
