R.Pattz's acting was awful in Twilight, so I really wonder about Little Ashes. Have you read any reviews? Is it any good at all? Thanks.

Critics remain way underwhelmed by Robert Pattinson's channeling of artist Salvador Dalí in Little Ashes. Call it a lack of—tee hee—sparkle. A few were impressed—the London Daily Express calls Pattinson's take "a spirited performance." But most agree with MTV's Kurt Loder, who says, "As soon as Pattinson steps forth with Dalí's famous up-twirled mustaches pasted to his face, the picture collapses."

Well, meow to you, too.

That isn't necessarily bad news for Pattinson fans, however, especially if you're open to a long-term love affair...

Despite the mixed reviews, veteran casting directors are calling Pattinson's choice in films brilliant, especially if he wants a long career.

"Tween girls buy movie tickets but don't win you Oscars," says casting exec Lisa Hamil, who worked on The Notebook and Alpha Dog as well as the new film One-Eyed Monster. "Hollywood is very quick to typecast, and once that happens, an actor's career can flatline."

Here's where tweenie fans may feel a bit of panic.

"All of us would still attempt to cast him in tween roles, but I'd be shocked (and a little disappointed) if he took another one," Hamil reveals. "It's the same reason Daniel Radcliffe did Equus. These guys are in it for the long haul and have learned this elemental truth: You grow up with your audience."

In other words, once the Twilight franchise wraps, kids, don't look for Pattinson in another teen-candy role. Even vampires need to grow up sometime.

I would not expect him to accept another teen-candy role but something very different - hopefully not another "Little Ashes" type movie either but something where he can prove he is a fantastic actor and not just eye-candy. Can't think of a movie right now but it will come to me, after some thought. Later.

The blog starts out with a false premise: "R.Pattz's acting was awful in Twilight..."

On the contrary, RP totally inhabited the role of Edward, perhaps the most beloved fiction male hero in a decade or more. It was a very difficult challenge, to live up to millions of fans' expectations, and he did it well.

"Little Ashes" was a movie that, by RP's estimation, would never have seen the light of day if it wasn't for RP's success as Edward in "Twilight." According to an interview, he accepted the role because it was different, it was in Spain, and it was a challenge. The movie was shot uber-low-budget. The cast had to do their own stand-ins, etc.

No surprise that "critics remain underwhelmed" by RP's performance in "Little Ashes." It is a goofy movie, with a goofy script, and goofy editing.

RP has said that he does not know that he will make acting his life career. Because his heart isn't set on acting for the rest of his life, I think it gives him the freedom to take roles that will make him stretch as an actor.

Robert's choice of films is actually good - considering his feelings towards acting, more so, about fame.
He's all awkward and into experiments, which is actually another good thing about him. And, that in choosing films he seems to be isn't concern if his fans will like this film or not. He was only wary that time he auditioned for Twilight - if he will do justice in depicting the character of Edward (especially that he wasn't Stephenie's first choice at all) considering there are a huge fan-based of the book. But. I think, that was it.
Now, with his upcoming film Remember Me - a love story,at that - I think his fan base will grow more. Another good move, and it isn't really typecasting of him as a leading man (but if this movie turns out good, well, he could be that if he wants to. We shall see.).
What I'm trying to say is that Rob can be whoever he wants to be in the world of Hollywood. He is young and fresh. He must feel around and check where he is really good at. Well, his agent and publicist can help him otherwise. It is as sure as the sun rises in the East, we will definitely see more of Rob in the years to come.

Everybody has there our opinion on how someone acted in a movie. I have heard alot of bad comments about Rob but I choose to believe he was good and when I saw him in Harry Potter he was good, but I found him so much better in Twilight.

But eveybody I have ever watched is in a few bad movies and thats not there fault it the writters who create that role and they really don't have much to sink there teeth into.

I don't see Rob in another teen movie, I think he will try something more challenging to show he is capable of doing anything. I can't wait to see those people who think he is terrible to eat there words.
