Teens getting 'Twilight' fangs put in by dentists when 'Twilight' vampires don't have fangs

The vampires in the Twilight series have a stone-like composition with diamond skin, eye colors that shift according to their diets, in some cases special powers, and many other physical characteristics in their mythological make-up, but they do not have fangs.

So, to see the amount of stories popping up over the last few days about people having fangs put on their teeth by dentists in the name of Twilight fandom is a bit confusing.

Take this story for example, from My Fox Houston:

Clearly these are Twilight fans having these procedures done, and the intention is to become more like the characters in the Saga, but since Twilight vampires do not have fangs (rather really strong, sharp teeth), it doesn't make a ton of sense, does it?

It seems that most media outlets aren't discussing the fact that the fang procedures do not comport with the Twilight lore, so your opinions on the issue are appreciated in the comments below.

But Twilight fans don't just love 'Twilight'. They pretty much love vampires in general. 'House of Night', 'Vampire Diaries', 'Vampire Academy', and 'Blue Bloods' are vampire books that have gotten a lot more popular since 'Twilight' blew up. I think these kids just love vampires, and the media only knows 'Twilight' so that's what they blame.

But, getting fangs? A bit much. No, way too much. I can't believe parents are paying for this...or that dentists are even doing it.

and i agree with Alycya if they were fans they would know that the Twilight vamps DONT have fangs!!!!!

I mean they interview the youngest kids they can find and they dont even know the facts of the story. Not everyone..no excuse me, The majority of twilight fans are actually mature people and its these little kids who make it seem like a juvenille fairy tale. Maybe one day The Twilight Saga will be repesented as the force of nature that it truly is : )

The vampires depicted in the books and the movies DO NOT have fangs... at all. So let them blame some other vampire flick for the freaks. Once again... The Twilight Saga novels and or movies DO NOT HAVE FANGED VAMPIRES. If they really wanted to look like the vamps in Twilight, they should go buy some designer jeans and a cardigan... "

Plus like others have said twilight vamps don;t have visible fangs...did she get them in reference to true blood vamps that do. I am little confused?
