Kristen Stewart made her grand red carpet arrival tonight at Palais des Festivals for the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival premiere of “On The Road” wearing a custom-made Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière gown.
This is the first premiere at Cannes for the 22-year-old, but you can tell it’s an exciting and memorable one!
Kristen’s pale pink sleeveless satin gown, with a teal pattern motif and embroidered all over with blue and silver sequin paillettes, featured a plunging v-neck and a massive thigh slit at the side to show off her black and silver metallic strappyBalenciaga sandals.
The design was finished off with a black leather belt.
I think this was a good choice for her. As I mentioned in my Cannes Wish List, I suspected Kristen would opt for a custom design from Ghesquière — but unlike her MET Gala look, I think she’ll receive much higher praise this time around.
Some may think she played it safe, which might be true, but Kristen was classy and beautiful — and yet, she still held on to the cool and edgy vibe we love so much about her style.
I mean… that slit is dangerous! I love how fearless she is.
She completed her look with a light color on her nails, a voluminous mane of luxurious layered waves, her special vintage Cartiernecklace and the Cartier white gold “Juste Un Clou” nail bracelet she’s been spotted wearing the past couple of days.
