Speaking to VMan Magazine :-
"It’s a very lazy comparison," he said, "because Twilight was a phenomenon unto itself. [Robert] Pattinson was chased down the streets of Paris before the films even came out. And he is going well for himself. He has about five films with acclaimed directors lined up."
Co-star Jake Abel also weighed in on the matter, saying "A lot of people expect us to knock the Twilight cast, but Taylor Lautner is a really nice kid. Rob Pattinson, I couldn’t imagine the tremendous amount of pressure he was under and he earned my respect when I saw him fight for certain projects. Water for Elephants is a great novel, the movie was what it was. That’s not his fault. That’s the risk; we’re the face of projects."
Thoughts on these two reactions?
Obviously, there are some pretty distinct differences to be found between the Twilight stories and The Host. As Stephenie Meyer herself put it,"Twilight is very much a romance ... but The Host for me is such a richer story because it dealt with so many different kinds of love.
The Host hits theaters on March 29.
