The Masen Crest Ring Discussion

As we know, it looks like this;

And of coarse you see it when Carlisle changed Edward at 0:33 seconds;

But I'm curious why he doesn't wear it anymore. I understand it was his past and is very dark to him. He probably doesn't even want to think about it. Do you have any thoughts?

Alice has the choker, Rosalie the pendant thing, the boys have the cuffs, esme has a bracelet and carlisle has the ring. I'm excited to see what they give Bella in Breaking Dawn. I have never understood where that ring comes in. It has never been featured in the movies.

Comment by Lindy Rosa Bella on September 23, 2010 at 5:10pm: I remember seeing this at Hot Topic. and they also had a Bella Cullen Crest ring (which I own). and I never could figure out why the heck Edward would have a "Masen" ring and why Bella would have a Cullen Crest ring in New Moon instead of Breaking Dawn. I didn't understand that at all. Maybe it was just an excuse to make more money, idk.

Comment by wig4rob on September 25, 2010 at 2:17am: I think its completely and toally marketing. Catherine Hardwick said she came up with the Cullen crest as a way to unify the cast for the movie. There was no family crest in the books. And for Edward's ring, I don't recall that being anything in the books either. Anyone know differently?
