The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 First Reviews

See what the critics have got to say about the long-awaited vampire finale "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 had its world premiere and the first reviews have already started coming in.

Find out what the critics are saying before you head out to catch up with R-Pattz, K-Stew and company when the film goes on general release this Friday...

"A doozy of a finale to a series that, until now, has largely taken its dramatic cues from its maddeningly inert heroine. Not anymore: With Bella reborn as a bloodthirsty, butt-kicking vampire mama, this second of two Bill Condon-directed instalments clears a low bar to stand easily as the franchise's most eventful and exciting entry."

Daily Mail

"I can't deny that I didn't care very much for the four other movies. For the most part they were poorly made and badly acted… But somehow the final film has stuff to say about love, friendship and loyalty that works."

"Fans will be left on a high; other viewers will be confused but generally entertained by a saga whose romance is matched only by its weirdness."

Daily Telegraph
"Breaking Dawn Part 2 is three fingers of supernatural teen romance served neat in a dirty glass with a sparkler and cocktail umbrella, and not a single concession is made to newcomers, or sanity."

Herald Sun
"In terms of providing plenty of bang for one's buck, Breaking Dawn Part 2 definitely ends the franchise on a high note. And without wanting to give too much away, the unexpected twist at the end of the film (hear the fans gasp in surprise) works extremely well for a cinematic audience."

The Guardian
"The Twilight Saga signs off with a tentative whimper which turns into a conditional bang, which turns out to be a different, provisional kind of whimper."

The Hollywood Reporter
"The final instalment of the immortal Bella/Edward romance will give its breathlessly awaiting international audience just what it wants. "

The Sun
"The end to Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen's (Robert Pattinson) saga is far superior to the penultimate film, which should have been titled Breaking Yawn. There's some proper action here for any lads willing to sit through it with their girlfriends – including some touching decapitation scenes."

The Mirror
"The series has always been at its best when exploring the aching sadness of adolescent love but now that Bella’s got her man, Twilight’s beating, undead heart has stopped pumping with the spectacle of the final conflict proving an inadequate substitute."

Just came out from the theatre! Darn it, the twist got me. Good job melissa and bill! Good job Summit! I've been supressing my tears during the (SPOILER) "battle scene" and the meadow scene, yet my emotions got the best of me. In the end i was overwhelmed. I cried endlessly until the credits. My mind was like "wow, four years of over?!" It is definitely bittersweet, especially when they recall all the cast from twilight to BD2. Wow. Just wow. TWILIGHT FOREVER! [Will watch it again...]
