Twilight: Breaking Dawn' sex scene cut for 12A

The sex scene in Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has been cut down so the movie can be given a 12A, it has been revealed.
The British Board of Film Classification advised producers to edit the "graphic sight of Edward thrusting while he lies on top of Bella" to avoid the film being given a 15 certificate.
"This film was originally shown to the BBFC in an unfinished version," a statement on the BBFC website says. "The BBFC advised the company that the film was likely to receive a '15' classification but that the requested '12A' certificate could be achieved by making changes to a sex scene between the Edward and Bella characters.
"In particular the BBFC suggested that [the] more graphic sight of Edward thrusting while he lies on top of Bella, and while her legs are wrapped around his torso, be removed.
"When the finished version of the film was submitted these changes had been made, with the scene having been reduced in length and with less focus on full body shots. As a result, the film was classified '12A'."

So it'll be suitable for a 12 year old? That's really young, so, so far the movie doesn't seem too promising. I just hope it's not too childish and teen-y. =/

Also whats wrong with it being given a 15 rating? I think most fans are 15 or older. Twilight came out 3-4 years ago so even the young fans who were about 12 back then should be about 15 by now. I hope they release an uncut version on DVD at least for the older fans.

Was that in England only? The version for U.S. wasn't changed. So get the DvD from U.S.

I don't think England and the US would have two different versions of the movie. The only difference is its called 12 A there and called PG-13 in the US...at least that's what I think.

that is england's version of breaking dawn in britain .... in the US the twilight saga breaking dawn part 1 will be theatres in 19 days .... the US will get to see the SEX scene between edward & bella ... edward thrusting while lying on top of bella ... at least we get to see that in the US

There's not going to be 2 versions, but hopefully we'll get the unrated version of this scene on the DVD, though they may not, if it's an issue of taste
