Twilight Examiner are Breaking down the first 'Breaking Dawn' song, 'It Will Rain' by Bruno Mars

The twilight examiner are breaking dawn lyrics of "It will rain " By Bruno Mars,the first song released on Breaking dawn part 1 soundtracks :-

the first song for the Soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1- called "It Will Rain" by Bruno Mars - was unveiled, and it's left many fans scratching their heads over whether it's an Edward or a Jacob-oriented song.

Bruno Mars, of course, has very clearly declared that he is "Team Bella," but he also admitted "It Will Rain" is about "the darker side of love."

Which love, though? Edward's or Jacob's? Or both?

Let's take a look at some of the lyric:-

"There's no religion that could save me"

That's something Edward might say, as the topic of souls is seemingly always on his mind.

"Your daddy can't even look me in the eye"

That one's obviously on the Edward side of the spectrum. Charlie loves Jacob, so that wouldn't be applicable to him.

"I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding"

These words sound more like Jacob, since Edward can't bleed . . . obviously. Unless it's meant to be a bit ironic, which is also possible.

"Don't just say goodbye"

This is the line, I think, that's gotten people thinking this is a Jacob-esque song. It's very reminiscent of the moment when Jacob tells Bella (during their wedding dance) that he thought he'd get used to telling her goodbye.

"Cause there'll be no more sunlight if I lose you, baby"

Very neutral line, right? On the one hand, you could say that this is Edward-ish, since he's the type who would credit Bella for sunlight returning to his life in the first place; hence, if he lost her, it would be gone. On the other, it could totally be Jacob's line of thinking.

So, where do you stand on this issue? Is this an Edward point-of-view song or from Jacob's perspective?

Comment by Carrie on September 28, 2011 at 1:55pm: I was thinking Edward. Many lines are neutral but the ones that aren't lean toward him in my opinion. My thinking was that it is about him fearing Bella dying from the childbirth and that part of the movie. I can see why you would lean toward Jacob too but I feel like she has already told him goodbye so that Edward is now the one faced with losing her. I love guessing and seeing if you're right or not.

For Edward there is the possibility that the venom will not enter Bella's bloodstream in time before she takes her last breath. So he could lose her forever. That's why we need Forever Dawn to be the conclusion to Breaking Dawn and then I'll leave S.M. alone.
