Sparkle for Twilight: Blog Update! How under the radar did the
Twilight episode of
Rachael Ray go this morning?!
Rachael Ray was just starting so I kept it on just to see who was the guest and in the land of perfect timing, it was the
Twilight episode. I was surprised, I missed the advance notice on this one!
The episode starts off with three "HUGE"
Twilight fans, some 15, 16 and 19-year old, all with video introductions displaying their wall-plastered
Twilight paraphrenalia, right down to the
Twilight Band-Aids. Each of the girls had an absolute favorite girl, and each of them got makeovers to look like the characters.
One of them said they loved Rosalie's style so much that she said sometimes she would shop and ask herself first if it would be something Rosalie would wear. That's a bit much, but hey, it's TV.
These were pretty successful, tranformational makeovers. They turned out to be really thorough because the actual costume designer for
New Moon, Tish Monaghan, was in charge. The Rosalie-lovin' girl went totally blonde to mimic this look, and I have to admit she really worked it.

Even the cute, curly-haired redhead got her Alice Cullen upturned spikes--though seeing her makeover into Alice with the fingerless gloves and subdued bundles of sweater and scarf, suddenly it dawned on me that Alice Cullen is working a hobo-meets-
Free-People-Catalog look.
What happened, New Moon Promo Shots?

The obvious thing that no one seemed to mention was the fact that the "Bella" makeover was clearly a make-me-over-to-look-like-Kristen-Stewart. They didn't even use a picture of Bella to replicate the new look. They used a picture of Kristen
from the Sundance premiere of Adventureland and kept talking about how they loved this "Bella" look. Uhh...awkward? Despite that discrepancy, I was still a little jealous the girl got to rock it in her new leather jacket and darker locks.

And has Rachael Ray even read the
Twilight books? If she had, she probably wouldn't have said the cheesy things she said. You can just tell when people have read the books, they're going to have strong opinions about it one way or the other. She tiptoed generically around the obvious fact
Twilight is a big deal and a lot of people go nuts for it.
Then Alex Meraz came out to surprise the girls, and he looked so jolly and super cute. I haven't seen much of the wolf pack interviews because they are secondary to me, but he was seemed so friendly and went over to hug each of the girls. I'm officially won over.
Video doesn't embed, head over to
