Fellow TwiFans.com member, Dawn and I, bumped into "old friend" Wyck Godfrey in the lobby of the Los Angeles, Abduction premiere. I say old friends because Wyck was so funny when we were chatting him up. I say chatting, but it would be more like fangirling in the maturest way possible. This is the story of the 3 minutes that felt like forever was only the beginning.
Next to Stephenie Meyer, we consider Wyck a GOD amongst people involved in the Twilight world. The God that decided to put his Benjamins into Twilight. He has been a producer of the Twilight Saga movies since the beginning. YAY for Wyck.
If you read our interview with Mrs. Meyer, she talks all about how Wyck and her have fun while waiting to film scenes on set, then you know Wyck is not only smart, but he's witty. And our little experience gave us a little insight to his wittiness. Keep reading...
We practically yell, we love you Wyck, across the lobby. No, nothing like that, but it felt very enthusiastic, in my mind, as we told him that we are his biggest fans. He laughed. Little did he know we really are! We started reciting Stephenie and Wyck from the Eclipse commentary...okay, no we didn't, but we did say "We LOVED it." At this point Wyck knows we don't just love his work as a producer on When a Stranger Calls or Alien vs. Predator, and he gets right to Breaking Dawn.
"We [Stephenie & Wyck] are trying to do commentary on this [Breaking Dawn - Part 1] DVD too," Wyck says with a big grin.
"We [Dawn and I] love it the most when the two of you argue. It makes us laugh," says Alison and Dawn.
He laughs and adds, "It's funny right? I am trying to talk her [Stephenie] into it. Have you seen the new trailer?"
Dawn and I both enthusiastically say, "yes!"
"I can't wait for the fans to see the movie. It's my favorite of all the movies!" Wyck exclaims.
At this point they are trying to usher people to their seats and I am in a Wyck conversation haze, but I had the presence of mind to ask Wyck for a picture. He says, "Of course." But security has other plans and tries to get all of us out of the lobby. Wyck stops him and says, "but these girls are old friends." Security smiles and let's us grab the photo above!
We found him lying fibbing to security to be sharp and hysterically funny, and great timing. Just like producing the Twilight movies.
If Wyck ever gets a gander at this, we would just like to say thank you for spending 3-5 minutes with two of your biggest fans. See you at the Breaking Dawn - Part 1 premiere. We will be there just like the last two!
