After seeing the stunning and absolutely gorgeous, red lace Reem Acra dress, that Kristen Stewart wore to the Cosmopolis Premiere at Cannes. As well as her various other looks that she has been sporting for her SWATH promo tour, I couldn't help but wonder when in the hell Balenciaga would get their act together and dress our girl accordingly.
We knows she's gorgeous. And we know how incredible she looks when she nails it....
*Wish she had worn this to the "On The Road" Premiere. It shows off her amazing figure, her hair and makeup are matched perfectly and the color really pops against her to-die-for skin.
Looks from the SWATH Promo Tour
But for a second consecutive time in the brand that she is now the face for, she has come out either completely disappointing....
*I like the top half of the dress and her hair & makeup are flawless. But the bottom half of the dress is a mess and I won't even comment on the shoes. If they were worn with a pair of leather pants, I might be more open to them, but here they are just unflattering.
The dress would of looked and worked - especially for the MET Gala, better if instead of the leather bottom, it flowed out into a full length gown. Maybe in a black lace, or black sheer, with a belt where the top and bottom half meet.
But that's just me.
*I'll also note that I enjoyed this look a lot more than her 2010 Gala look. That look was just wrong all over, in my book.
Or severely underwhelming...
*Mixed feeling's about this dress. It's better than what she wore to the MET Gala, and the overall design and shape of the dress I like, but I just wish that it was tailored better.
I'm also not loving the pattern on the dress or the color. It doesn't pop. Nothing about the dress does, and for such a big night, she deserved to wear something that truly made her shine. Maybe a stunning black or burst of colour such as blue, purple, gold...
I am, however, completely in love with the shoes.
I'm not saying that I hate every piece of Balenciaga that she wears as their have been some looks that I have loved. Especially when she mixes-and-matches some pieces with other looks....
*Lest we forget...
*Adore this look, although I know I am one of few who does.
*Not a fan of the print on the pants, but in complete love, with this look
But their seem to be more misses, then hits, lately and they always seem to be when she needs a look for the/or a, red carpet event. It's true that overall, I am not that big a fan of the brand, despite loving a few of their pieces - the leather motorcycle jacket for one. It's mainly the dresses that I really don't like.
The question then being what the hell is going on? And just when will this brand deliver us a truly, jaw dropping and no words inspiring ensemble. We haven't yet seen any photos from the campaign that Kristen is the face of. And with a busy year still ahead of her, we know that there are plenty more opportunities, for this brand to either shine, or fall.
Fingers crossed for shine!
