It depends. A basic laptop with a 15 inch screen, DVD RW drive and 2 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive start at about $400. Netbooks which are lighter in weight, have 10 inch or 11 inch screens, no DVD drive and a 160 or 250 gb hard drive start at about $270. IF you want something to play dvd/cds or to burn music, you would probably want a laptop. Netbooks are great for traveling light and surfing the net. You can download things to them and use usb flashdrives to load music but they don't have an internal dvd/cd.
No I have not read Vampire Kisses, but if you say that they were really good, I will look for it. I do like reading manga. Sounds to me like you could really use a netbook or a notebook. I have both, but prefer reading from my desktop because of screen size (24 inch flat panel). But I have to admit being able to take the netbook just about everyplace and use it for the internet is really nice.
I understand that well. I picked up VK #1 and 3 to read out of curiosity. Like them so much, I ordered #2,4,5,6,7, and 8 all at one time. Then finished them all in a couple of days. I did go back and read them again. I like the books better than the online, but the online stuff is already published beyond book 10, and 10 won't be release to book stores until June. I can't figure that out. Seems like they are losing book sales on that deal.
I got the Graphic Twilight on pre order for $9 less than half suggested retail. Can't wait for volume 2, to finish up.
No I have not read Vampire Academy yet. I read the VK series online and have all of the books with #10 and 11 on order. I am getting ready to read the next volumes of VD, and a new book about fallen angels. Just finished Twilight The Graphic Novel which liked.
There are no dumb questions. *smiles* Why not? According to your profile you're a vamp. I like you, if I didn't we wouldn't be having this conversation. *laughs* What's there not to like about vamps? We're loving and caring and we can live thousands of years, providing we don't lose our hearts to the wrong person. LOL
They may not be losers even though they are not winners. Could just be good friends. Difficult to say sometimes how people and friendship will work out.
Maybe they like Twilight, but afraid to admit it. Maybe they don't want to appear soft in front of their friends.
Keep looking, there are quite a few guys on this site who obviously like Twilight. But be careful of the ones who are only here because 98% of the members here are girls or women. Those guys are not here for the story, they looking for something else. Whether that be romance or role playing. Just make sure if you connect with someone, they are honest about their intentions. If you have read the books and they haven't, you'll know.
Who's afraid? I'm not afraid. I know a few who really like the movies but have never read the books nor will they likely ever read the books. The books are romantic dramas, not something most men usually read with much interest. But there are also those who are open minded and will read anything. =smiles=
